Prevention is better than cure! This soup is good to prevent cough. No scientific proof from me....just my experience.
Well, nourishing soup is good for health. I cook soup for my boy every weekdays. If I missed, I will cook some sweet soup for him. Sweet version is more for me because I like dessert. :) I like it warm and chilled but my boy like it chilled, just the soup without anything else!

3-4 Asian Pear (peeled and cut into big chunks)
Handful of Snow Fungus, about 133g after soaked
8 Seedless Red Dates
Handful of Chinese Almond 南杏 (apricot kernel)
2 Dried Figs (US)
1 Litre Hot Water
Some rock sugar to taste
Method:
1. In a slow cooker, add in all ingredients (A) except snow fungus and rock sugar.
2. Cover and cook for 2 hours. Add in snow fungus. Cook another 1 hour. Add rock sugar to taste, cook another 30 minutes. Serve warm or chilled.
