Learn how to prepare Japanese Fish Broth aka Dashi from scratch. It's easy and can be used in cooking wide variety of Japanese cuisine.
Ingredients:
20g Dried Bonito Flakes (Katsuobushi)
For small portion: 2x 3g packs + 180ml water. |
600ml Water

Method:
1. Heat water in a saucepan, bring to boil.
2. Add in bonito flakes. Lower the heat and simmer for 2 minutes.
3. Remove from heat. Let it sit for few minutes. Strain and let it cool.
You may add some Japanese Kombu 昆布 for greater flavour. |
