Crispy Five Spice Pork Belly 五香炸肉~免油炸 [Air Fryer Recipe]



Flavourful and delicious Crispy Five-Spice Pork Belly, an old school dish that is usually deep fry in hot oil. It's pretty simple, just marinate and air fry till crispy.



Ingredients:

380g Pork Belly 

Some beaten egg and potato starch 

Marinade:

2 tsp Tapioca Flour

1 tsp Ginger

1 tsp Garlic

1/2 tbsp Light Soy Sauce

1 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Sesame Oil

1/2 tbsp Shao Xing Hua Tiao Wine 

1/8 tsp White Pepper

1/8 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp or more Chinese Five Spice Powder
(I used homemade Chinese Five Spice Powder (made by my dad), do adjust the amount accordingly.)

Method: 

1. Place pork belly in a bowl, add all marinade ingredients, mix well. Cover and marinate overnight in the fridge. 

Cut the pork belly into small chunks like I did or slice thinly if you like it more crispy.
I like it this way, the meat is crispy on the outside, inside still juicy and tender.  

I find it hard to chew the cooked pork belly skin but my son requested skin-on pork belly, he said the skin is nice. So, it's really up to individual preferences whether to remove or keep the skin on the pork belly.  

2. Remove pork belly from the fridge, return to room temperature, mix in some beaten egg and potato starch. 



3. Preheat air-fryer 210'C for 5mins. 
 

4. Place pork belly in the cooking basket, air fry 210'C for 10 minutes or till crisp and cooked through. Serve right away. If cooking a bigger portion, flip once halfway cooking and adjust the cooking time accordingly. 若喜欢我的食谱,可以LIKE和追随我的面书专页,不要错过最新食谱发布。
