Teddy Bear On Holiday

Rice Based Food Art - Teddy Bear On Holiday. Exam was over, year end school holiday is nearing, we are tuning into holiday mode. Add a twist to the usual Japanese curry rice lunch by shaping the rice into adorable teddy bear wearing sunglasses, sunbathing, munching its favourite cracker, get ready for holiday fun!

How I made it:

1. Prepare homemade Japanese curry. I have an easy recipe to cook Japanese curry from scratch. This is the recipe I have been using for years, my kid-favourite curry. Get full recipe:  <<Click here for Homemade Japanese Curry Recipe >>

2. Portion out the cooked rice, mix with some dark soy sauce, hand mould into bear shape. Place the plain rice ball on the serving plate. Refer pictures below.

3. Place the teddy bear on the plain rice ball.

4. Make the sunglasses: Trim seaweed into sunglasses shapes. Transfer onto a slice of cheese. Cut the cheese along the edges of the seaweed.

5. Assemble: Place the sunglasses on the teddy bear, sprinkle some rice toppings on the plain rice ball. Pour the cooked curry around the rice ball and serve warm.
